Alder Bend Land Trust began with one oxbow meadow below Kettleford. Thirty-five years later it owns seven preserves anyone can walk and holds 38 easements that keep private farms and forest from being paved.

Five staff: an executive director, a stewardship director, a land protection manager, a community programs coordinator, and a part-time membership and operations manager. A volunteer board of 13. And 240 volunteers who gave 3,900 hours in 2025.
